Emergencies and Urgent Care
Emergency care
Emergency care is medical care you need right away to treat a serious, sudden injury or illness.
If you think you have an emergency, call 911 or go to the Emergency Room.
Urgent care and you
If you need care but are not sure if it is an emergency, you can call the AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana 24-Hour Nurse Call Line at 1-888-632-0009.
Examples of urgent care conditions are:

- Earache
- Vomiting
- Rashes

You can use the Find a Provider tool to find an in-network urgent care center near you by following the below instructions:
- Click on the “Places by type” section and type in “Urgent care.”
- On your results page, you will see a tab called “Virtual care” for urgent care centers that offer their services via telehealth.
- If the urgent care provider offers telehealth, these services are available to AmeriHealth Caritas Louisiana members.
